ACTS 2 REVELATION

                                            Thomas J. Grace

A deeper look to the words of God

New York, NY – (Release Date TBD) – This is a complete study of the book of Acts which tells us the history of the first century of the Christian Church. It is the action adventure book of the New Testament, when Luke wrote this book he chooses a different style than he used when he wrote the Gospel of Luke. As we study the first century church and learn of the many problems that occur persecutions, arrest of the apostles, while they are beaten, whipped and put into prisons. Stephen is stoned to death; James is put to death by sword and groups around the world gather to persecute Christians wherever they meet. These are the conditions that exist today in many nations of our world and will become greater very soon as we come close to the day of our Lords return. The book of Revelation the last book of the New Testament  written by the apostle John tells us of the events of the final seven years of mankind will bring a great persecution of all Christians worldwide. We must learn from both these books what will occur and how the church will be able to survive until Christ return.

In this book we will learn of the faith and courage of our church leaders as they bring the Gospel of Jesus Christ to a world that is filled with the enemies of God who have sought to destroy this message since the birth of Jesus. We must learn to have the same faith and trust God for our every need and our lives in the last days. This is now a horror story book but teaches the love of God for each of us since the day of creation until the final return of Christ.

About the Author

Thomas Grace, his wife Cathy, and daughters Rita and Lorraine have been servers for twenty five years as missionaries to disabled people in New York City. They have brought the Gospel to disabled people in their homes each week with Bible studies, music, prayer and fellowship. Because disabled people often have problems when they travel this began a home ministry as we are told in the Acts 2:46 And they continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart. Soon we were able to meet with disabled people throughout the entire city in larger groups and retreats as the Lord blessed our work and answered our prayers for more volunteers and more and transportation for disabled people. The subject of this book has been a cornerstone of the teaching of the ministry and has been taught many times in churches and homes wherever the Gospel has been welcome. Thomas is a member of the Independent Assemblies and has completed his studies with Berean University.

THE THIRD DENIAL

by Thomas J. Grace & Cathy M. Grace

It would seem that before Christ would become the Lamb of God John 1:29 that takes away the sin of the world that He Himself must become the most forgiving person to ever live. What we see are two issues of forgiveness Jesus human earthly forgiveness and His Fathers heavenly divine forgiveness, which must be justified by the shedding of the blood of Gods own Son Jesus Christ Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood  there is no remission. Can Jesus forgive on earth all the sins He would ask His Father in heaven to forgive also to have us become sons and heirs with Him John 1:12 But as many as recieved Him to them gave He power to become sons of God even to them who believe in his name. At the Pharisees home a woman washed the feet of Jesus ,  He said Luke 7:48 Thy sins are forgiven claiming power on earth to forgive sins. While alive this was a person to person forgiveness a process that would go on forever. There had to be a better way to remove sin this would not occur until after Christ death, when Christ would have all power to forgive the sins of all mankind. 1 John 2:12 I write to you little children because your sins are forgiven you for His names sake. Jesus would become the sacrifice and atonement for each person and each sin we will commit. In His final plea from the cross Jesus said Luke 23:34, Father forgive them for they know not what they do Jesus had already done so. Jesus came to earth and was well prepared for the mission He voluntered for before the world was created Hebrews 4:3 the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

Jesus still had a more difficult task teaching people to forgive one another Matthew 18:21 Then came Peter to Him and asked Lord how many times shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him  Matthew 18 : 22 Jesus replied seventy times seven. People who are hurt want others to ask for forgiveness, but are not ready to forgive others. People believe God is full of mercy and will forgive them this is not so. Jesus spoke about this Luke 11:4 And forgive us our sins as we forgive others that have sinned against us this makes us partners in a divine system with God, Jesus and you may be the only act you do together. Still others believe they have commited a sin that cannot be forgiven, by doing so they deny the sacrifice of Christ, which is a greater sin than the sin they commited. Christ death and the shedding of His blood Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood and without the shedding of blood there is no remission of sin. Christ death was the sacrifice for your sin and the resurrection is the evidence and guarantee the sin is forgiven 1 Corinthians 15:17 And if Christ be not raised your faith is in vain and you are still in your sin. This teaching of Christ would be difficult at this time sin was punished severely and sacrifice was required to have   God  forgive our sin.

Those who are closest to us are often the people we have great difficulty to forgive, Peter who Jesus called the rock Matthew 16:18 You are Peter and on this rock I will build my church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. Peter was the chief apostle   and he had no reluctance he did tread where angels fear to go When Jesus called Peter he left the boat to walk on the water Matthew 14:29 as Peter sunk in the water he was the first person to say Lord save me. When Christ asked who do men say that I am , Peter shouted out John 6:69 You are the Christ. Peter declared He would die with Christ Matthew 26:35 Peter could have used some reluctance at that time. On the day of Pentecost Peter was the first to preach Acts 2:38 boldly he declared the death and resurrection of Jesus to a crowd that might have stoned him. Just moments before the arrest of Jesus Peter cut off the ear of the high priest servant Luke 22:51 Peter was ready to fight a large armed crowd and soldiers there to arrest Christ. Jesus not to help His cause but to prevent harm to the apostles and others there He did restore the ear. Seeing this miracle did not cause them to reconsider arresting Jesus but did allow those with Him to escape John 18:8. later that night Peters courage will disappear.  Peter did follow the crowd as they took Jesus to the trial where He would be condemmed. Did sudden panic, fear of death, or unbelief cause Peters three denials of His Lord as he watched and listened to the false accusers testify. Perhaps the presence of the High Priest and others who were the leaders of the religion and society that put doubt in Peters heart. What will influence you in the last days as we see the world taken over by the powers of satan. You will see the false prophets, teachers of one world religion and a government system that will not allow Christians to work, purchase food, or have a place to live. You must focus on our Lord and allow Him to provide for you until He rescues us all. Maybe it was Jesus own no response no defense to His accusers that confused Peter, as Jesus did not respond to questions or beatings. Maybe Peter was waiting for a miracle escape. He still did not understand the many times Jesus told him how He must suffer and die. Mark 8:31 And he began to teach them  that the Son of Man must suffer many things and be rejected by the elders and of the chief priest, and scribes and be killed and after three days rise again.  Peter had spent three years with Christ now they are seperated and Peter is alone and frightened, suddenly Peter must make a choice and decision alone as the maid asked him surely you are one of them Luke 22:59,60 and his reply was instant as he denied Christ and his response was tears. Dont allow this Peter problem to  happen to you in the last days when it is your turn to answer the question. If your answer is no you may have a brief reprieve until the suffering on earth begins and final eternal punishment Revelation 20:15 And whoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire. Make Christ your Savior now believe in Him to rescue you before the tribulation  and bring you to eternal life with Him. If Peter had answered yes He is my Lord and Savior the Son of God the crowd would have wanted to kill him also. God would not allow that to happen it was not Peters time to die at this trial .

Why three denials just as Jesus had told Peter Luke 22:34  tonight you will deny Me three times, at the third denial Jesus was close enough to see and hear Peter as he denied Him Luke 22:61 Once again Jesus does not speak but looks at Peter a look Peter probably remembers today . Was this a look of disappointment, or to make Peter feel guilty,    could it have been a look of forgiveness  to reclaim Peter back to the faith after  a brief departure. Jesus as He heard Peter His chief apostle deny Him still had the chance of escape would He forgive Peter and still choose to die for a unbelieveing world. Jesus had already prayed for Peters tribulation and return to leadership Luke 22:32 But I have prayed for you that your faith fail not and when you are converted strengthen your brothers. Peter was not to be lost at this trial while he listened to Christ declare Luke 22:64  I am the Son of God, Peter heard the crowds reaction he knew his Savior would be put to death . Peter was saved by the prayer of Christ when He warned Peter that satan was trying to destroy him. Peters denials might have been directly to the high priest, Peter might have testified against Christ at the trial. His three denials could have been much more serious he might have become the second Judas.  But what of the handmaid Peter did speak to when he denied Christ did God allow this error to go uncorrected. Did Peter himself seek her out later, maybe she was in the crowd at the day of Pentecost when Peter spoke or maybe this required a personal visit by Peter.  Could she have been Rhoda? God most certainly did not forget the handmaid and He has not forgotten you. Yes God is watching and will not allow our mistakes to cause harm or deny salvation to those who are seeking Him. Jesus faith remained strong as He heard His friend deny Him and the crowd shout for His death. Like Abraham Romans 4: 20,21  He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief but was strong in faith giving glory to God 21 And being fully persuaded that what He had promised He was able also to perform. Jesus staggered not but believed God would do all He had promised. Christ learned in thirty three years living on earth living even one thousand years might benefit many but would save none. Only His death the shedding of His blood, resurrestion and ascendion  would be the sacrifice that would save mankind  Two men  were tested  Peter failed but was not lost because Jesus went forward and saved all of us on the cross. Jesus was taken to Herod ,then  Pilate who beckoned Him to speak John 19:10,11 You could have no power at all against Me except it were given to you from above therefore he that delivered Me unto you has the greater sin. This was a answer but not a defense to all He was accused of during all the beatings, whiping, the crown of thorns Jesus didnot accuse His attackers 1 Peter  2:23 Who when He was reviled, He  reviled not  again when He suffered He threatened not but committed Himself to Him that judges righteously. During the seven times He spoke on the cross He said Luke 23:34 Father forgive them for they know not what they do the purpose of the cross was forgiveness He could not leave this world without seeing those who have killed Him not  be punished for this sin.

With these words Father forgive them Jesus may have prevented the worst judgement and punishment by God on mankind. We are aware of how God in the past has punished those who have sinned by disobeying Him by idol worship and other acts of rebellion. Gods forgiveness is permanant He does not forgive today and punish later for the same act.

Jesus would have many to forgive the Pharisees, Herod ,Pilate, the crowd that shouted crucify Him Jesus forgave all of them now it is your turn to be forgiven ask Christ to be Lord of your life accept Him as your personal Savior be willing to repent and confess your sins to Him 1 John1:9 We confess our sins He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.     Jesus completed His sacrifice mission  of atonement  and in three days the resurrection would be the evidence and guarantee that God had accepted the perfect sacrifice of His own Son. 1 Corinthians 15:17

Lets not be harsh with Peter he taught us we may sin and be fully restored because Christ is praying for us also. Christ wants us to love and forgive as He did and also to be forgiven like Peter to do less would deny the life and death of our Lord Jesus Chris , Romans 2:4 Or do you show contempt for the riches of His kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that Gods kindness leads to repentance.

CHRIST LOVES YOU. AMEN. COME LORD JESUS
